In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on:

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process

US proposed indirect talks between Israel and the PLO following the failure to achieve an extended settlement freeze in the West Bank has collapsed this week.  The PLO have told the US that they will not hold indirect or direct talks as long as Israel builds on the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The US wanted Netanyahu to present his ‘final borders’ map to the US but he refused to do so.  Meanwhile the PLO are drafting a statement to be submitted to the UN Security Council declaring the settlement building in the West Bank and East Jerusalem as being illegal.  The UN Secretary General stated that a settlement freeze is a top UN agenda and that the Palestinians have an ‘inalienable right for their independence’.  Bolivia has joined Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela and Uruguay in recognizing an independent PLO state based upon 1967 borders.  Ten EU countries are scheduled to upgrade their diplomatic relations with the PLO.  Mahmood Abbas said that he will not allow any Jew to live in a PLO state.  A Hamas commander said that Israel has no right to exist.  Mahmood Abbas announced that he finalized an agreement with former PM Ehud Olmert on security issues that has been submitted to the UN Security Council. Chabad rabbi Dov Wolpe of the Eretz Yisrael Shelanu movement stated in a Jerusalem rally that should Israel seek to evacuate any settlements that his organization will declare an independent state in the West Bank.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

From a Biblical prophetic perspective, the reason why the God of Israel would allow these events to happen is because it will result in the end of the exile of the house of Jacob and the reunification of the 12 tribes of Israel (Ephraim and Judah).

We will to be “watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem” and we will not rest until the God of Israel makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth (Isaiah 62).

Shalom in Yeshua the Messiah,
