In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on several things:

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process

The PLO announced that they will establish their interim unity government in the next week. A Senior PLO legislator declared that Fatah and Hamas will never recognize Israel. Leading Hamas officials stated that they will accept a PLO state but they will not recognize Israel. The PLO are planning a day of protest on May 15 against the establishment of the state of Israel on May 14, 1948. PLO officials have warned that this could be the start of a 3rd intifada.  President Obama has announced that he will reveal a new Mideast peace strategy next week. Obama will host Jordanian leader King Abdullah on May 17.  Obama is tentatively scheduled to give his Mideast speech on May 19. He will be meeting Netanyahu on May 20. After meeting with Netanyahu, Obama will fly to Europe. He will be in Europe when Netanyahu gives his speech to a joint session of Congress on May 24.  Given the planned schedule of Obama, it appears that he is going to give the “cold shoulder” to Netanyahu and show him the utmost of diplomatic disrespect. Debka is reporting that Obama is pursuing a strategy to empower the Muslim Brotherhood. The fall of Egypt and a Hamas / Fatah reconciliation agreement is part of this strategy. It appears that Obama’s speech next week will not be friendly toward Israel.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

From a Biblical prophetic perspective, the reason why the God of Israel would allow these events to happen is because it will result in the end of the exile of the house of Jacob and the reunification of the 12 tribes of Israel (Ephraim and Judah).

We will to be “watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem” and we will not rest until the God of Israel makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth (Isaiah 62).

Shalom in Yeshua the Messiah,
