In this week’s 5 minute update, we focused on several things:

1) The current status of the Israel / PLO peace process

Fatah and Hamas have made an agreement to reconcile their differences and form a united PLO government.  In response, Israel suspended tax transfers to the PA.  UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon called upon Israel to release the tax funds. The European Union decided to provide 85 million euros to the PA to make up for the frozen funds. Netanyahu said that the Hamas-Fatah agreement is a blow to the peace process. Hamas is willing to accept a PLO state but they said that they will never recognize Israel. The USA said that Hamas must accept the principles of the Quartet for the US to recognize it. England and France have given mixed messages regarding their response to Hamas-Fatah reconciliation. On one hand, they said that they won’t recognize the new PA if it doesn’t recognize Israel’s right to exist. However, they also said that should no progress be made on the peace process that they are considering recognizing a PLO state in September.

An agreement to divide Jerusalem and establish a PLO state is a tribulation event.

From a Biblical prophetic perspective, the reason why the God of Israel would allow these events to happen is because it will result in the end of the exile of the house of Jacob and the reunification of the 12 tribes of Israel (Ephraim and Judah).

We will to be “watchmen on the walls of Jerusalem” and we will not rest until the God of Israel makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth (Isaiah 62).

Shalom in Yeshua the Messiah,
